Consumer & Cannabis
Overview
Consumer and cannabis covers branded consumer products, retail and e-commerce, and licensed cannabis operators along with the ancillary businesses that serve them. Consumer demand tracks employment, disposable income, and shifts in how and where people shop, with private label competition and channel economics increasingly determining which brands hold margin. Cannabis growth depends on state licensing regimes and the pace of federal policy change. The two areas finance very differently. Consumer companies access conventional equity and credit markets, while cannabis operators remain largely excluded from national bank lending and major exchange listings, which pushes financing toward private capital and leaves valuation closely tied to regulatory expectations. A.G.P. has been active in cannabis financing since the sector's early years in the public markets, and works across both areas on equity and debt financing, M&A advisory, and research.
